For long, film buffs and industry experts have been wondering what director Vetrimaran's next film, Visaranai, is all about. Now, sources in the industry say this film will be a hard-hitting tale that is based on an incident that took place in the life of an individual. The plot, we are told, is about how our system treats one who is helpless and one who has wealth.

The story deals with an innocent person being charged with a crime and the tedious process that he is subjected to soon after.
When Chennai Times got in touch with director Samuthirakani for more details on the project, he said, 'It is true. This film is based on a true story and is bound to change the face of Tamil cinema for ever. It is simple unadulterated truth. I have worked with many directors before and have directed films myself but working on Vetri's film has been a rewarding experience and matches nothing that I have worked on before.'
Disclosing that he plays the role of a police inspector in the film, Samuthirakani says,
'Unlike the usual cop roles, this one is as close to reality as possible. I play someone who has a need to retain his job while working under trying circumstances. Despite the pressures, he looks to keep his job and at the same time, is as helpful as he possibly can be.' 'Attakathi Dinesh plays the hero in the film. Recently, the person, on whose life experience this story is based, came and visited us on the set. It was a memorable experience for all of us,' says Samuthirakani, who also informs that this film will release in January next year.
